Holistic Treatments for Beginners: Part One

We’ve all heard of alternative methods to medicine, whether it be using essential oils to treat acne or taking CBD to help with stress. For many people, it may seem ineffective to care for yourself simply with natural vitamin supplements. However, there are many benefits to using holistic methods of healing as opposed to complex medications that may or may not work. In part one of this series, we will give you a brief overview of some treatments that you may want to try if you are new to the idea of holistic medicine.

At Clinical Nutrition Centers, our goal is to provide you with natural vitamin supplements that will not only treat your symptoms, but will also work to heal your body from within. With traditional medicine, doctors prescribe pills that only cover up your symptoms instead of treating the root cause of your illness. If you are interested in healing your body and providing it with the natural vitamin supplements it needs, contact Clinical Nutrition Centers and speak to our doctor about the proper treatment for you.

Garlic

You’ve probably used garlic to season your favorite dishes, but did you know that you can use it as a holistic treatment method as well? Many people swear by the healing powers of garlic, but before you go adding cooked garlic or garlic powder to all of your meals, you should know that garlic is most effective when it’s raw. Raw garlic can be used in a multitude of ways, including to fight ear infections, ward off a cold or the flu, and to help clear fungal infections. That being said, the best way to experience the benefits of garlic is to slowly introduce it into your diet throughout the day instead of simply during one meal. Luckily, garlic is a common ingredient that you can buy at most grocery stores, making it easily accessible to all!

Aromatherapy

If you want to slowly introduce yourself into the world of holistic healing, a great way to start is through aromatherapy. Essential oil diffusers have quickly become a necessary item in most homes, making it easy to get started with aromatherapy. The great thing about this type of treatment is that you can easily calm your body and your mind simply by inhaling different scents. Be sure to research how certain essential oils — or combinations of oils — affect the body, and mix and match to meet your needs.

Chamomile

Chamomile is another herb that can be ingested to provide your body with the rest and relaxation that you deserve. This wonderful herb is most often made in the form of tea. If you are an avid tea drinker, try sipping on a cup of hot chamomile tea before bed or when you’re feeling stressed. Chamomile is known to help people sleep better or relieve their stress, as well treat a variety of disorders, including muscle spasms, hay fever, ulcers, and more! If you’re not a big fan of tea, you can also try chamomile as a tincture, syrup, or honey.
